The meeting of the Belarusian part of the Belarusian-German Business Council was held in Minsk with the participation of FEZ Grodnoinvest
The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest took part in the meeting of the Belarusian part of the Belarusian-German non-governmental council of business cooperation, which was held in Minsk on January 21, 2020.
The information on the cooperation of FEZ Grodnoinvest with partners from Germany in 2019 was presented during the meeting, the problematic questions of FEZ Grodnoinvest residents regarding export of products to the German market were identified, as well as proposals for cooperation in 2020 were spoken up.
It should be noted that in 2019 the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest took an active part in business meetings with German partners, including the Belarusian-German Council for Business Cooperation, the 10th Day of the German Economy in the Republic of Belarus. In August 2019, a visit was made by a delegation of the Saxony-Anhalt state to Grodno, in September - a visit by the leadership of the German-Belarusian Economic Club to participate in the International Business Forum Euroregion Neman-2019.
During the meeting, the co-chair of the Council from the Belarusian side, the general director of Henkel Bautechnik Sergey Novitsky, shared information on the activities of the Council and plans for 2020. Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Nabeshko spoke about the dynamics and prospects of cooperation with German business.
Industrial and logistics companies, law offices, representatives of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, ASB Belarusbank, Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, industrial park Great Stone, free economic zones, etc. took part in the event.
In 2018, the turnover of the residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest with Germany amounted to $ 31.3 million (growth rate of 101.3%), including export of $ 5.3 million (growth rate of 145.6%). Residents of FEZ export furniture, chemical products, timber, glass products, paper and cardboard, optical products, fuelwood, etc. to Germany. 2 companies with German capital are registered as residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest - Belabedding, HAVER BY metal-cloth factory.
Following the meeting, the participants worked out the proposals of the Belarusian side for discussion with representatives of German business during the meeting of the Saxony-Belarus Business Council, which will be held in Leipzig on February 26, 2020.
