A new version of HS code of the EAEU and the Common Customs Tariff of the EAEU came into force

On January 1, 2022, the seventh edition of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) came into force, which is the international basis for the unified Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union (HS code of EAEU).

The 2022 HS edition is the result of another five-year cycle of the comprehensive revision of the nomenclature carried out by the World Customs Organization (WCO) on an ongoing basis. According to the WCO, the new edition of HS contains more than 350 series of amendments due to changes in the nature and structure of world trade, social and environmental issues of a global nature.

During 2020–2021, the Eurasian Economic Commission, in close cooperation with the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, carried out work to bring the unified Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity and the Common Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union (CCT EAEU) into line with the international framework.

Information on changes in the HS code of the EAEU can be obtained on the right portal of the Eurasian Economic Union at the link.
