Meeting with the new General Consul of the Republic of Poland was held with the participation of the leadership of FEZ Grodnoinvest

On August 10, in the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, the leadership of the region met with the new General Consul of the Republic of Poland in Grodno, Andrzej Rachkovsky. During the event, Dmitry Rozhkov, Deputy Head of the Administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest, presented the current assessment and prospects for the development of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries. 

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vitaly Nevera and Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Belarus Martin Voitekhovsky. The parties noted the importance of bilateral relations in the economic, investment, tourism industries, the active interest of Polish businessmen in the implementation of investment projects in the Grodno region.

In his speech, Dmitry Rozhkov noted the readiness and interest in building up business activity between residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest and Polish companies. This includes investment activities in developed sectors of the Polish economy, such as mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, the production of furniture and wood products, and the agricultural industry. And the implementation of joint initiatives for industrial cooperation, the development of dealer networks of Belarusian companies and the growth of mutual trade.

We pay special attention to the implementation of joint logistics projects, since the Grodno region and Podlaskie Voivodeship are located in a unique geographical location on the route of trade flows between Europe and Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union.

For Polish businessmen from the tourism industry, there are proposals for the creation of recreation, food and entertainment facilities on the Belarusian part of the Augustow Canal. 16 investment sites have been created, each of which has its own thematic focus.

Poland is one of the key partners for FEZ Grodnoinvest in both investment and trade and economic spheres. During the period of FEZ Grodnoinvest activity, $135 million of foreign investments were attracted from the neighboring country.

Poland is the second trade partner of the FEZ after the Russian Federation. Since 2015, the trade turnover between the parties has doubled and today exceeds $180 million. The basis of bilateral trade is wood products, furniture, paper and cardboard, chemical products, metal and plastic products, and much more.
