Charge d'affaires of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited FEZ Grodnoinvest
On October 18, 2023, a delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Charge d’affaires of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov visited FEZ Grodnoinvest. 
As part of the visit to FEZ Grodnoinvest, a round table was held on the topic: Prospects for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Vitaly Nevera, Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, opened the event. He spoke about the dynamics and directions of cooperation, promising sectors of the Grodno region for increasing bilateral trade turnover. Management of FEZ resident enterprises, the GrodnoOblselhoztehnika and Grodnomyasomolprom holdings, also attended the round table.
Dmitry Rozhkov, Head of the Administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest, held a presentation of the trade and economic potential and investment opportunities of FEZ Grodnoinvest for business in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation and increasing trade turnover between the businesses of the Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
For reference: the volume of attracted foreign investments from Uzbekistan exceeded the mark of $10 million, and bilateral trade turnover over the 8 months of this year increased 2.5 times, reaching $19.7 million. FEZ residents export wood products, chemical products, medical equipment, metal and plastic products. In turn, companies from Uzbekistan supply yarn, cotton and viscose fibers, and knitted fabrics.
Taking into account the existing bilateral potential, the Head of the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest proposed to consider the possibility of holding a joint Belarusian-Uzbek business forum at the platform of FEZ Grodnoinvest next year. Continuing the meeting, the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the production of the resident enterprise of FEZ Grodnoinvest Gronitex JSC and discussed possible areas of interaction with the company’s management.
Business meetings between residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest and entrepreneurs of the Republic of Uzbekistan are held on an ongoing basis. Previously, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus visited FEZ, and the forum Partnership of the Grodno Region with the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Grodno. In 2022, two visits of the management of FEZ Grodnoinvest to Uzbekistan took place.
