Potential of FEZ Grodnoinvest presented at the meeting on cooperation with the Republic of Komi

On December 7, the fourth meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Komi of the Russian Federation was held in the format of video conference. Within the framework of the event, the Head of the Administration Dmitry Rozhkov presented the investment potential of Grodno region and FEZ Grodnoinvest.

The Belarusian part of the working group was headed by the Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik, from the Russian side was chaired by the Head of the Komi Republic Vladimir Uyba. The result of the event was the signing of the Protocol of the meeting, which outlined concrete steps to further strengthen cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural spheres.

In his presentation, Dmitry Rozhkov spoke about the main advantages of doing business in the Grodno region. He noted that the volume of industrial production, agriculture and the construction sector is increasing in the region, the energy sector is developing. Special attention was paid to the logistics potential.

Grodno is a beautiful, multinational city with an interesting history and modern infrastructure. Favorable location, high level of education, moderate climate and clean ecology make our region attractive for life and business.

The Head of the Administration stressed that since 2010, the turnover and export of transport services in the Grodno region has doubled, the contribution of logistics to the gross regional product has become noticeable. The presentation outlined the preferences of the free economic zone Grodnoinvest, which, despite the status of the youngest FEZ in the republic, is the leader in attracted foreign investment. A unique natural area on the border of three countries - the Augustow Canal - was presented as a separate block.

The next meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Komi of the Russian Federation is planned in Grodno in 2022.
