The leadership of Grodno region and Podlaskie Voivodeship discussed regional logistics development plans

On February 26, 2020, in Bialystok, a meeting was held between the leadership of Podlaskie Voivodeship and the delegation of Grodno region, headed by the Deputy Chairman of regional executive committee Vladimir Deshko. The co-organizer of the meeting was by administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest. The purpose of the event was discussion of the Roadmap implementation for bilateral cooperation in the development of transport infrastructure.

The Belarusian side was represented by the leadership of Grodno Regional Executive Committee, the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest, UE Baranavichy Branch of the Belarusian Railway, JSC Grodnooblavtotrans. The event was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Bialystok Alla Fedorova.

The Polish side was led by the Deputy Marshal of Podlaskie Voivodeship Marek Olbrys. The representatives of the departments of financial control, infrastructure and transport, economic development of the Marshall Office of Podlaskie Voivodeship, the branch of the Polish Railway in Bialystok, the main department of national roads and highways in Bialystok participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the current state of transport networks on the Polish-Belarusian border, discussed the Roadmap implementation for bilateral cooperation between Grodno region and Podlaskie Voivodeship for 2019-2020.

The meeting addressed issues of the inclusion of Grodno in Via Carpathia international automobile route, the expansion of the existing railway connection between the regions, the creation of a multimodal international route between the European and Eurasian Economic Unions, considering the potential of Grodno region and Podlaskie Voivodeship.

During the event, the Deputy Head of FEZ administration Dmitry Rozhkov told about the investment potential of FEZ Grodnoinvest and presented the project of a multimodal logistics center on the border with Poland. It should be noted that several large investment projects in logistics sphere are being implemented in FEZ Grodnoinvest. Investors are attracted by favorable location of Grodno region, FEZ land plots on the border of two regions, tax and customs preferences, the availability of professional personnel and the comprehensive support of FEZ administration.
