FEZ preferences should become available to a greater number of business entities in regions that are behind in terms of socio-economic development, and in industries that need additional investment resources.
A dialogue platform on economics was held in Grodno with the participation of the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest
Dmitry Rozhkov, Deputy Head of the Administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest, presented the possibilities of FEZ for creating regional points of growth within the framework of the dialogue platform on economics that was held in Grodno on November 3, 2020.
Dmitry Rozhkov spoke about the impact of the free economic zone on the economy of Grodno region and shared suggestions regarding its further development to activate the internal potentials of industry and logistics.
The event was attended by Chairman of Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Grodno State University Marina Karpitskaya, Director of Grodno branch of Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange OJSC Alexander Novikov, head of the branch of Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus Elena Stalbovskaya, business representatives, etc. The participants discussed the issues of improving financial, investment, fiscal policies, developing the digital economy and raising environmental standards.
FEZ Grodnoinvest is the leader amongst the republican FEZs in terms of attracted foreign investments. Over the recent years, the volume of investments has increased manifold. The leading industry spheres are woodworking and furniture production, light, food and chemical industries, mechanical engineering and metalworking. In total, 75 enterprises are successfully operating in FEZ. They form a quarter of the industrial production andover 40% of export of Grodno region.
