FEZ Grodnoinvest attracted a record volume of foreign direct investments on a net basis
In 2020, the residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest attracted $74,4 mln of foreign direct investment on a net basis for the implementation of projects (excluding debt to a direct investor for goods, works, and services). This is a record indicator for the FEZ over 10 years.
In 2020, the volume of FDI on a net basis doubled compared to 2019. Most of all in last year were attracted by residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest located in industrial areas in Smorgon, Svisloch districts and Grodno. In total, in 2020 residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest attracted $322 mln dollars of foreign direct investments, about what we wrote in a special final material.
Since the beginning of the activity of FEZ Grodnoinvest, over $990 mln of foreign direct investments have been attracted in the creation of modern export-oriented industries. This is the best indicator among the FEZ of the Republic of Belarus. The current year the indicator will be able to overcome the level of one billion US dollars.
Since the end of 2020, the construction of several large factories has begun in Grodno, Svisloch and Smorgon districts. For example, the construction of a glass production facility has been launched on the land plot No 4 of FEZ in Auls, and the construction of a large woodworking enterprise has begun in Svisloch.
