Investment opportunities of FEZ Grodnoinvest were presented to Turkish business

On February 23, an online presentation of the investment opportunities of FEZ Grodnoinvest and the Grodno region for Turkish business took place. The meeting was organized by the administration of the FEZ with the support of the Turkish-Belarusian Business Council under the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Turkey (DEIK).

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Turkey Viktor Rybak, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Council Yılmaz Soycan and head of the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest Dmitry Rozhkov addressed with welcoming words. The event was moderated by the Deputy Head of the FEZ Administration Ruslan Kizelevich. In total, more than 20 Turkish companies in the fields of industrial production, logistics, medicine and pharmaceuticals, consulting and financial services took part in the online meeting.

Anzhelika Kolosha, Specialist of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the FEZ Administration, spoke about investment opportunities for Turkish business circles in FEZ Grodnoinvest and the Grodno region. During the presentation, investment projects in the fields of industry, logistics and tourism, as well as a project to create a Turkish industrial park were presented. The speaker spoke about the successful activities of Europlasteks Invest, a FEZ resident with Turkish capital, which is implementing two investment projects in the industrial park in Smorgon in the light and metalworking industries.

During the online meeting, Ekaterina Holubovich, a specialist in the development of foreign economic activity of the resident enterprise Mebel-Neman JLtd., made a presentation in which she spoke about the company's activities, presented products and emphasized the features of trade and economic cooperation with foreign partners. At the end of her speech, the speaker noted the interest in establishing cooperation with Turkish partners.

It should be noted that on February 23, 2012, ten years ago, a cooperation agreement was signed between the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest and the Belarusian-Turkish Business Council (DEIK). Today, relations with Turkish business are systematically increasing. In 2021, the trade turnover of FEZ Grodnoinvest residents with Turkey doubled and exceeded the mark of $10 million. In November 2021, the head of FEZ administration, Dmitry Rozhkov, visited the Republic of Turkey as part of a delegation from the Grodno region, where issues of industrial cooperation and the implementation of new investment projects were discussed.


For reference: The Council for Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Turkey (DEİK) was established in 1985 and is currently the largest Turkish organization uniting the Turkish business community. The main goal of DEIK is the development of economic relations and international trade, the representation of the private sector of Turkey abroad.
Within DEIK there are 138 country business councils, including the Belarusian-Turkish Business Council, established in 1992 under the Eurasia Business Council.
