FEZ Grodnoinvest - the leader in Belarus in attracting investments
In 2019, FEZ Grodnoinvest residents invested 436 million BYN, or 25% of the indicator for all republican FEZs. Over 90% of investments are directed to fixed assets.
Every third ruble of investments in fixed assets around all republican FEZs falls at FEZ Grodnoinvest. At the same time, a significant share of such investment came from foreign sources - over 70%. This is another indicator in which the free economic zone of Grodno region leads.
FEZ Grodnoinvest is the youngest FEZ in Belarus, but it has already become a leader in terms of attracted investments from foreign investors. Since the establishment of FEZ in Grodno region in 2002, over $ 912 million of foreign investments have been attracted, including $ 348 million in 2019.
Top 5 investors in FEZ Grodnoinvest include Russia (32%), the Netherlands (18%), the UK (12%), Cyprus (12%) and Poland (11%). In total, investments from 40 countries were attracted to FEZ, including Japan, Scotland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Hong Kong, etc.
The leader among industries in terms of investments for the entire period of activity of FEZ is woodworking sector. It accounts for over 47% of the total. An effective furniture cluster has been formed in Grodno region, including over 20 enterprises for the production of packaging, wood products, wood boards, furniture, etc.
