The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest participated in the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan
On July 29-30, Minsk hosted the I Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, in which over 400 representatives of the government and business of both countries took part. The Deputy Head of FEZ Grodnoinvest administration Dmitry Rozhkov in the delegation of Grodno region participated in the plenary meeting of the Forum.
Within the Forum the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation in trade, investment, scientific, technical and humanitarian interaction spheres. One of the key themes was the expansion of existing trade and economic relations, the creation of joint ventures and promotion of mutual trade.
At a meeting in Lida, the leadership of Grodno and Samarkand regions signed a roadmap of cooperation. Its goal is to strengthen friendly relations between the regions, establish new business contacts in such promising areas for both parties as engineering, agroindustry, logistics, woodworking, etc.
In 2018, the trade turnover of Grodno region with Uzbekistan amounted to $ 15.5 million, $ 6.4 million of which (41%) comes on FEZ Grodnoinvest residents. FEZ residents Lakokraska JSC and Novogrudok Gas Equipment Plant JSC are successfully present on the Uzbek market.
Predominately, FEZ residents supply polycarboxylic acids, alkyd resins, fibreboard plates, tanks for liquefied or compressed gas, machinery and industrial equipment to Uzbekistan. The basis of import is cotton yarn and fiber.
There is one resident with Uzbek capital in FEZ Grodnoinvest. On FEZ site in Smorgon, Europlastex Invest Ltd. is implementing a project on development of a vertically integrated complex for the production of cotton yarn and products.
