New plant was launched on the site of FEZ Grodnoinvest in Smorgon within the furniture cluster

On December 17, 2021, a grand opening of a pellet plant took place in the industrial park of FEZ Grodnoinvest in Smorgon. The project was implemented within the framework of the investment project of Smorgon experimental forestry. In the event took part the chairman of the regional executive committee Vladimir Karanik, the Head of administration of FEZ Dmitry Rozhkov, the minister of forestry of Belarus Vitaly Drozhzha, the chairman of the Smorgon regional executive committee Gennady Khoruzhik and other honored guests.

Smorgon Experimental Forestry was registered as a resident of FEZ Grodnoinvest in December 2020. A modern export-oriented plant has been built and launched on FEZ site in the Smorgon region. The project provides for the involvement of low-quality wood and sawmill waste in the economic turnover and an increase in the added value of finished products.

The new plant will set up the production of pellets with a capacity of about 15 thousand tons per year. All products will be exported to the countries of near and far abroad. Over 10 new jobs with decent wages have been created.

Dmitry Rozhkov also visited other enterprises located in the industrial park of FEZ Grodnoinvest in Smorgon. During the visit, the Head of administration held negotiations on the further implementation of investment projects of the existing residents of FEZ, the development of the furniture cluster of FEZ in the Grodno region. This is facilitated by the investments of FEZ administration in the development of infrastructure in the Smorgon region. The second phase of a large-scale infrastructure project for the reconstruction of Industrialny Ave. was recently completed.
