Lida district recognized to be the most attractive for doing business in Belarus
Lida district is recognized to be the best in the Republic of Belarus for doing business among towns with over 50 thousand residents. These are the results of the Republican contest “The Best City and Region for Belarus's Business - 2019”.
138 out of 143 regions of the Republic of Belarus participated in the contest. The expert jury included business associations, representatives of government bodies, leading economists of the country.
The competition has been traditionally held by the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus since 2008. The regions were evaluated by such indicators as the number of operating business entities, taxes collected, the ratio of created jobs, and the growth rate of these indicators.
Three investment sites of FEZ Grodnoinvest with a total area of over 540 hectares have been created for business development in Lida district. A special legal regime, including tax, customs and other preferences, allows to reduce project costs by up to 40%.
Five residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest are implementing their projects currently in Lida region with investments from Belarus, Germany and Lithuania. Their total production volume exceeds 190 million rubles, 68% of which is exported.
