Investment potential of FEZ Grodnoinvest are presented at an online meeting with businesses of the Samara region

On January 29, in the format of an online meeting, a presentation of the investment, economic and tourism potential of the Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus and the Samara region of the Russian Federation took place. During the event, Dmitry Rozhkov, Deputy Head of FEZ Grodnoinvest Administration, spoke about the opportunities for Russian business in the Grodno Region.

The online meeting was attended by the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Samara Region, the Grodno branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Investment Promotion Agency of the Samara Region, the Economy Committee of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, the Tourist Information Center of the Samara Region, the Sports and Tourism Department of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, etc.

Dmitry Rozhkov presented the potential of FEZ Grodnoinvest and the the special tourist and recreational park Augustow Canal, spoke about possible options for cooperation between residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest and the business community of the Samara region. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation in the chemical, machine-building and woodworking industries, the implementation of investment projects in the logistics and tourism sectors.

In many aspects, from transport and industrial infrastructure to a favorable investment climate, our regions are similar and attractive. I am convinced that the online format can transform into mutual business visits and completed projects.

The Russian Federation is one of the main trade, economic and investment partners of FEZ Grodnoinvest. Over the past few years, trade between FEZ residents and Russian companies has doubled and exceeded USD 800 million. Belarusian exports include furniture, textiles, chemical products, optical fibers, meat products, wood boards, plastics, automotive components, etc. More than 390 million US dollars of foreign investment has been attracted from Russia, there are four FEZ residents with Russian capital.

The Samara Region is one of the leading regions in terms of investment attractiveness among the regions of Russia and is located in the top 10 regions of Russia in terms of labor potential development. The population of the region is 3.2 million people, GDP at the end of 2019 amounted to about $ 21 billion. The industrial potential of the region includes an aerospace cluster, a chemical cluster, an IT cluster, and an automotive cluster. The region accounts for about 40% of the production of Russian auto components.
