Foreign tourists spend an average of six days in Grodno

At the end of 2018, a significant increase in tourist flow and average time of stay of tourists in the Grodno region can be noted.

There is a diversification of the export of tourism services in the region, the share of such bordering countries as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and the countries of Western Europe is gradually increasing. Since the beginning of 2019, about 16 thousand tourists from more than 30 countries visited Grodno and Park Augustov Canal. And if earlier the average duration of a trip was two days, then by the end of 2018 the average time of a foreign tourist stayed up to six days.

The growth of tourist traffic in the region is associated with the active development of various types of tourism, improvement of transport infrastructure and roadside service, the opening of new catering and accommodation facilities.

In 2018, about 440 thousand tourists visited the Grodno region, a quarter of whom were foreign guests who used the visa-free regime.

With the increased flow of tourists, there is a need to create new facilities for the tourism industry and infrastructure in the region. Investment projects can be focused on the creation of tourist centers, accommodation facilities, food and trade.

The tax burden for residents of Park Augustov Canal has been reduced by more than 70%, thus minimizing costs and reducing the payback period for projects.
