Grodno was visited by Tomash Pernitsky, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Belarus
Grodno Regional Executive Committee held a meeting of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Belarus Tomas Pernitsky with the leadership of the Grodno region and the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest.
The meeting discussed promising areas of cooperation between the countries, the implementation of joint projects and agreements, including in the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Grodno region and the Central Czech Republic of the Czech Republic, signed in June 2016.
With the assistance of the embassy, in 2019 a number of visits of representatives of the Belarusian business community to the Czech Republic will be organized, in which Grodno residents can take part. The main objectives of the exchange of experience trips will be the study of fish farming, brewing and the production of equipment for sewage treatment plants. Further joint implementation of projects in the field of agriculture and food industry is possible.
Among the promising areas of cooperation between the Grodno region and the Czech Republic are cooperation in the field of logistics, namely the creation of a multimodal logistics center on the territory of the FEZ “Grodnoinvest”, which will be used to service the transport flows of the EU and EAEU countries.
Today, such residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest as Lakokraska JSC, Albertin JSC and others are exporting to the Czech Republic.
The trade turnover of residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest with the Czech Republic in 2018 amounted to $ 4.1 million. The growth rate compared to the same period in 2017 is 132%. Export of residents of the FEZ in 2018 amounted to $ 0.5 million, a growth rate of 250%.
In total, for the period of operation of the free economic zone Grodnoinvest from the Czech Republic, $ 3.7 million of investments were attracted, a resident with Czech capital, LLC Goldoptima, operates.
