Resident of FEZ Grodnoinvest GRODNO GLASSWORKS celebrated its 100th anniversary by launching a new plant

The flagship of the glass industry in Belarus, a resident of FEZ Grodnoinvest GRODNO GLASSWORKS JSC, turned 100 years old. The company is the largest of the three existing Belarusian manufacturers of glass containers and the only one that produces green glass containers. The FEZ administration joined the congratulations on the anniversary of the management and employees of the company. 

By its 100th anniversary, the company is launching a unique plant for the production of glass containers worth more than $55 million in Belarus. To implement a large-scale innovative project, the company became a resident of FEZ Grodnoinvest in 2019. The site was selected in the industrial zone of the city of Grodno, the Auls district.

The prerequisites for the implementation of the investment project were the predicted increase in demand for glass containers due to the gradual restriction of bottling of drinks in PET bottles, as well as the high share of imports in the segment of clear glass containers. Thanks to modern approaches and innovative equipment, the new plant will be able to produce a wide range of small-sized glass containers of any color with high productivity. An innovation for the country's glass industry will be the operation of the enterprise's production lines in a special mode.

At the moment, the construction of a new production site of GRODNO GLASSWORKS has been completed. In January 2023, a glass melting furnace with a capacity of 220 tons of glass melt per day was fired up, the process of debugging equipment and industrial testing of production lines began. The new production will allow satisfying the ever-increasing domestic demand for high-quality and environmentally friendly packaging, developing the industrial potential of the region and the country as a whole, and increasing export supplies.
