The Head of the Representative Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in Belarus visited FEZ Grodnoinvest

On August 10, 2023, Andrey Dudkin, Head of the Representative Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in the Republic of Belarus, visited the free economic zone Grodnoinvest, where he got acquainted with the industrial, investment, trade and economic potential of the Grodno Region.

From the Belarusian side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vitaly Nevera, Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Alexander Komendant and Head of the Administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest Dmitry Rozhkov. The parties discussed promising areas of interaction between the business circles of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Grodno region, emphasizing mutual interest in the field of machinery, agro-industry, woodworking and the chemical industry.

As part of the visit, Andrey Dudkin visited  FEZ Grodnoinvest resident enterprises for the production of furniture ZOV-LenEVROMEBEL and Mebel-Neman, where he discussed the options of production cooperation within FEZ furniture cluster and expansion of dealer networks of Belarusian companies in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the visit, an agreement was reached to work out the organization of a furniture forum of two regions on the basis of the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest.

The Nizhny Novgorod region is one of the most industrial developed entity of the Russian Federation. In 2022, the trade turnover of FEZ Grodnoinvest exceeded $23 million, most of which was the Belarusian export of auto components, clothing, cable and chemical products, and wood boards. Imports are represented by rape seeds, polyvinyl chloride, phenol-aldehyde resins, paints and varnishes, and metal structures. In March of this year, FEZ Grodnoinvest was already visited by enterprises of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and a month earlier, the investment potential of FEZ was presented at a business forum in Nizhny Novgorod.
