A delegation of Polish businessmen visited the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest

On November 23, the presentation of the investment potential of FEZ Grodnoinvest and the special tourist and recreational park Augustow Canal took place. The event was attended by over 20 representatives of Polish business, including the leadership of the Association of Polish Business in the Republic of Belarus, The Podlaski Business Club, Podlaska Association Club of Business Women.

 

Polish businessmen got acquainted with the history and dynamics of the free economic zone development in Grodno region, promising areas of Belarusian-Polish business relations, a special legal regime for the residents of FEZ and the Park Augustow Canal , the benefits of implementing logistics projects in FEZ Grodnoinvest on the border of Belarus and Poland in Svisloch and Grodno regions.

Within the framework of the visit, investment sites of FEZ in Grodno and Grodno region were visited, the experience of FEZ Grodnoinvest residents with Polish capital was studied. During the negotiations, issues of interaction with Polish investors in woodworking, chemical industry, tourism and recreation spheres were discussed. An agreement was reached on elaborating a visit by the business community of Lobeski County.

For record, there are 9 companies, FEZ Grodnoinvest residents, with Polish capital at the moment. In total, over $ 100 million of Polish investments were attracted, which is about 15% of the total foreign investment volume in FEZ Grodnoinvest. According to the results of 2018, the trade turnover of FEZ residents with Poland amounted to $ 187 million. Over the period of three years, this figure increased by 1.5 times. Belarusian companies generally supply wood products and furniture, wires and garments to a neighboring country.

Recently, GABI-BEL and Szynaka Mebel Bel, companies with Polish capital, became FEZ Grodnoinvest residents. The regional conference “Doing Business with IKEA” will be held on December 10 this year in the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest together with the Polish unit of the international corporation IKEA.
