Belarusian-Turkish regional business forum was held in Grodno

On October 15, the Belarusian-Turkish regional forum was held in Grodno with the participation of a delegation from Eskisehir. The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest together with the Embassy of Belarus in Turkey, Grodno City Executive Committee, Grodno branch of the BelCCI organized the event.

 

The forum was opened with a welcoming speech by the head of the FEZ administration Sergey Tkachenko. He presented a project of the industrial park for Turkish investments, introduced the potential for industrial cooperation with the current  FEZ Grodnoinvest residents.

The guests were also welcomed by the mayor of Eskisehir Ylmaz Buyukershen and the chairman of Grodno City Executive Committee Mechislav Goi. They told about the prospects of the Belarusian-Turkish regional business relations and about mutual interests in the economic sphere.

 The head of the Eskisehir Chamber of Commerce Celalettin Kesikbash and the chairman of Grodno branch of the BelCCI Mechislav Kostyuk took part in the forum. They introduced Belarusian and Turkish participants of the forum, spoke about the activities of the chambers. Mr. Kesikbash presented the investment and industrial potential of Eskisehir.

Following the results of the plenary part of the forum, the Agreement of cooperation was signed between the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest and the Industrial Chamber of Eskisehir to create conditions for the development of investment, trade, economic, tourism and information activities.

A contact and cooperation exchange was held in the final part of the forum with over 50 Belarusian and Turkish companies from mechanical, engineering and automotive components production sphreres, chemical, textile and food industries, furniture production sector, etc.


A company with Turkish capital Europlastex Invest successfully operates in FEZ Grodnoinvest. The company is implementing a project on the development of a vertically integrated complex for the production of cotton yarn and products from it. The interest of mutual cooperation is reflected in the dynamics of the development of trade between the FEZ residents and Turkey. In 2018, it exceeded 10 million US dollars, which is 2.7 higher compared to 2017.

Belarusian companies supply chemical products, furniture and products of woodworking sector to Turkey. Plastic products, cotton and knitwear, metal structures, machinery and equipment are importred from Turkey. The enterprises  Bigan, which recently received a Halal certificate, and Lakokraska JSC are the export leaders among FEZ residents.
