Belarusian-Pakistan agro industrial business forum will be held in Minsk in autumn 2019

In autumn 2019, the fifth meeting of the Belarusian-Pakistan working group on agriculture will be held in Minsk. Within the framework of this event will be organized a forum for business representatives of two countries-all this was agreed within a working meeting of  the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Pakistan and the Federal Minister of National Food Security and Research of Pakistan that took place on July 8, 2019.


Within the meeting, was made the case dealing with the necessity of trade turnover increase between two countries. The volume of mutual trade at the amount of 50-65 million USD, that was entrenched in the recent years, does not reveal the full potential. Nowadays, the key aim is to increase it to 1 billion USD over two years.

Pakistan is the fifth largest market in the Middle East, Africa and the South Asian region. A population of 208 million people is young and is characterized by a growing middle class. To promote their products, many foreign companies use local contractors, partners from regional offices in Dubai or Singapore.

Agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy and industry are considered as the most promising areas of cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus. Deliveries of agricultural and automotive vehicles, fertilizers, petrochemical products, food products to the Islamic state are to be the most perspective.

Nowadays, trade turnover of the residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest with Pakistan is 435 thousand USD, the structure of which is dominated (97%) by the export of FEZ resident Lakokraska. In total, in the first quarter of 2019, the residents of FEZ exported products to 51 countries for the total amount of 229 million USD. This is 26% more in comparison with the same period last year.
