The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest participated in the Hungarian-Belarusian Business Forum

The administration of the FEZ Grodnoinvest took part in the work of the Hungarian-Belarusian Business Forum, which took place on April 28, 2020 in an online format. The event was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Hungary.

The event was initiated by the Hungarian business community. In total, representatives of more than 80 companies took part in the forum. The leadership of the diplomatic missions and chambers of commerce and industry of both countries presented up-to-date information on the Belarusian-Hungarian trade and economic cooperation, as well as opportunities for Hungarian business in the Republic of Belarus.

During the work of the business forum, it was decided to create a joint Belarusian-Hungarian business council on the basis of the chambers of commerce of bouth countries. Dunai Zoltan, executive director of Stadler Hungary, was proposed as a candidate for the position of co-chairman from the Hungarian side, and Philip Brunner, executive director of Stadler Minsk, from the Belarusian side.  In addition, in the near future, it is planned to hold a number of online seminars on woodworking and construction, regional business forums, as well as a meeting of the intergovernmental trade and economic commission in Budapest after the stabilization of the epidemiological situation.

Trade turnover of residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest with Hungary at the end of 2020 amounted to USD 2.1 million, including exports of USD 575 thousand. The bulk of the export is made up of chipboards, furniture, and plastic products. In recent years, the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest took actively part in business events with Hungarian business: in 2017 - in the Belarusian-Hungarian business forum and a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission in Budapest, in 2018 - in the Belarusian-Hungarian business forum and a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Minsk, in 2019 - in the Belarusian-Hungarian business forum in the field of auto components in Budapest.
