The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest participated in the work of the Belarusian-Swiss Business Council

A meeting of the Belarusian-Swiss Business Council was held in Minsk on November 26. The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest participated in the event and in bilateral negotiations with the business community of Switzerland.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin, Minister of Economics Dmitry Krutoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stadler Rail AG, Co-Chair of the Business Council from the Swiss side Peter Shpuler, Chairman of the BelCCI, Co-Chair of the Business Council from the Belarusian side Vladimir Ulakhovich, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in the Republic of Belarus Claude Altermatt, over 120 business representatives of two countries.

During the plenary part of the meeting of the Business Council, attention was paid to promising areas of Belarusian-Swiss cooperation in trade and investment spheres. It was noted that Belarus is a beneficial economic partner for this European country due to its geographical position, political stability and favorable conditions for doing business. “Recently, there has been an increase in the volume of mutual trade and trade in services , the product range of Belarusian export is expanding, there has been a steady inflow of investment from Switzerland into Belarusian economy,” said the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin.

During the meeting, Swiss entrepreneurs studied the investment and industrial potential of FEZ Grodnoinvest and received an invitation to visit Grodno and inspect the available investment sites, learn about FEZ origin and its residents.

In 2018, the first deliveries of FEZ residents' produce to this country started. Over the past year, trade amounted to $ 1.2 million. The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest is ready to provide support in establishing business contacts with representatives of Swiss business community, and to organize meetings and negotiations in mutually beneficial directions. Land plots and production areas, a special legal regime and comprehensive support are provided for Swiss business in FEZ.
