The administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest has implemented a large-scale infrastructure project in Grodno region
In Smorgon, on the territory of the industrial zone of FEZ Grodnoinvest, the main part of the infrastructure project for the reconstruction of Industrial Avenue was completed worth over 5.4 million rubles. In less than a year, the 1st start-up gacility was built and put into operation here. The general contractor was JSC DST No. 6 .
In Smorgon, Industrial Avenue is the only transport artery connecting the production facilities of FEZ residents and the road network of the Republic of Belarus. It was built in 1989 and, due to its long service life, needed reconstruction.
In less than a year, financed by FEZ Grodnoinvest Development Fund, a modern four-lane motorway with a length of over 2 km, dividing strips and a lawn, traffic light regulation, outdoor lighting, and stop pavilions appeared here. At the entrance of the avenue, visitors can see a stele with the trademark logo of the free economic zone.
However, the reconstruction of the avenue is not finished. The second stage includes the construction of a roundabout, the creation of bicycle and pedestrian paths. In the nearest future, the issue of providing the industrial zone with additional electricity with a capacity of 55 MW will be resolved. This will increase the investment attractiveness of the region, draw in new companies to create modern production facilities. Investors are offered vacant land plots, production facilities, granted tax and customs benefits, other preferences.
We were pleasantly surprised by the time and quality of the work performed, by the professionalism of everyone involved in this project. Reconstruction of Industrial Avenue is a great contribution of FEZ administration to the development of infrastructure and improvement of the regional investment climate.
It is a pleasure to look at the new road. Thanks to the implementation of the project, we were able to get a convenient access to our enterprise. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our work.
The industrial zone of FEZ Grodnoinvest in Smorgon was established in 2015. Today it consists of 3 sectors with a total area of over 750 hectares. In just a few years, 8 new residents have appeared here with investments from the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey and Cyprus. These are well-known world companies: Kronospan, Sodrugestvo, Szynaka Meble, etc. $ 425 million have been already invested in the creation of modern production facilities by FEZ residents.
Due to the industrial site, industry indicators of Smorgon region have grown significantly, over two thousand people have jobs and decent salaries. In 2019, the production volume of FEZ Grodnoinvest residents exceeded 1.1 billion rubles, export reached the mark of $ 500 million. Thus, FEZ residents make up for over 90% of industry in Smorgon region.
Since 2015, the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest has invested about 11 million rubles in infrastructure development. This contributed to the investment attractiveness of Grodno region, take a leading position in the country in attracting investments.
