5 new residents registered in FEZ Grodnoinvest in 2022
In 2022, 5 companies with capital from Belarus and Russia were registered as residents of FEZ Grodnoinvest. The total volume of announced investments for the implementation of projects in the woodworking, chemical and logistics sectors amounted to about $30 million.
New residents will create production and logistics facilities on the territory of the industrial parks of FEZ Grodnoinvest in the cities of Grodno and Svisloch, as well as in the Grodno region. The implementation of the announced investment projects will create about 180 new work places with decent wages.
In Grodno, on the site No. 1 (Grandichi district) of FEZ Grodnoinvest , the Krones-Grodno company organizes a diversified production of furniture and wood products. As part of the project, a new complex will be built, including production, storage and administrative premises, and modern technological equipment will be purchased.
Another new resident of FEZ Grodnoinvest, VIMZOVPLAST Ltd., will create a modern plant in the regional center for the production of a wide range of products from synthetic polymers and quartz agglomerate. The products are import-substitutin and will be sold within the framework of the special legal regime of FEZ through the development of cooperation relations with residents of FEZ of Belarus, as well as for export to the Russian Federation.
In the Grodno region, on the site No. 2 (Novaya Gozha district) of FEZ Grodnoinvest, a company with Russian capital Barinpack is implementing a project to produce environmentally friendly packaging from high-density fiberboard (HDF). Finished products are intended for export to countries of near and far abroad, however, some part will be sold in Belarus as part of the country's gradual transition from plastic packaging of goods to environmentally friendly. The first batch of products has already been produced and was highly evaluated at the republican competition of innovative projects.
In Svisloch and, partially, in Grodno, on the territory of FEZ, TERMINAL WEST CJSC will create a production and logistics enterprise specializing in the transshipment of liquefied hydrocarbon gases from broad gauge railway tank wagons to narrow gauge, as well as from tank wagons to road transport. Additionally, it will be possible to provide services for the purification and compounding of liquefied hydrocarbon gases.
Another project in the field of logistics at the site No. 12 in Svisloch of FEZ Grodnoinvest will be implemented by a new resident of Unionway Ltd. It is planned to build a container terminal with a railway specialization. The container terminal will provide services for reloading containers from 1520 mm gauge to 1435 mm gauge and vice versa, depending on the direction of transportation.
