September 27 - World Tourism Day
September 27, Belarus and many other countries of the world celebrate World Tourism Day. Officially, this date was approved 8 years ago at the III session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization.
This year, the 25th International Exhibition "Tourist Business-2018" will be held in Belarus as part of the World Tourism Day, which will bring together representatives of over 100 travel companies and agencies from a dozen countries of the world under the roof of the BelExpo exhibition complex in Minsk.
Grodno, one of the key tourist cities of the republic, also will not remain aloof from large-scale celebrations. On September 27, residents and guests of the regional center will be able to visit the photo exhibitions "From Grodno with Love" and "Moments of Grodno Beauty", an exhibition of history and citizens of Grodno of the late 19th century "Garadzenskija Dvoriki".
For everyone, a free tour of the historical part of the city with a visit to the Museum of the History of Religion will be organized, and for the next three days there will be a competition for the best quatrain about tourism with pleasant gifts from the leading tour operators of the region.
In recent years, many efforts have been made in Belarus and, in particular, Grodno region, to develop the country's tourist potential. For example, since October 2016, on the territory of the special tourist and recreational park Augustow Canal, which is entrusted with the administration of FEZ Grodnoinvest, visa-free regime is valid for a period of 10 days. In less than two years, more than 100,000 tourists took advantage of this opportunity.
